Pastor Reginald R.J. Williams
Reginald Robert James Williams received his first call to the ministry at age 13, but did not accept. Seven years later, on August 30th 1992, he accepted his calling, preached his trial sermon and was licensed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Jones and the First Corinth Family recognized Rev. Williams’ faithfulness and studiousness in the Word and elevated his service for Christ by ordaining him on January 30th 1994.
He is an alumnus of Bryant Theological Seminary. In May, 2017, he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Pastoral Theology from Carver College and a Certificate of Theology from BIBI (Baptist International Bible Institute). He clearly perceives that technically, “Academia does not make a preacher – what it does is provide him with the proper equipment to ‘stand’ and help others to ‘stand’ for Jesus.” He is currently working on his Masters at Bethany Bible College & Seminary and teaching at BIBI.
As a member of First Corinth Church, Rev. Williams served as Youth Minister, was a member of Christian Education Ministry, Teacher for the Orientation Ministry, Bible Study (All ages), Teacher's Normal, Children’s BTU, and Sunday School (All Ages). He developed and implemented Youth and Children’s Church, organized and put into service the Young People’s Bible Fellowship, prepared an annual Youth Ministry teaching objective, and designed new and exciting programs to reach the youth. In addition, Rev. Williams developed an Annual Youth Conference, assisted in the establishing of the Maximizing Manhood Ministry, and re-structured the Youth Ministry - out of which A.C.H.I.E.V.E (Affirming Charity Holiness Integrity Evangelism Virtue, and Excellence) was formed. Reverend Williams is truly a preacher and teacher of vast acclaim.
In October, 2002, God sent and Little Zion received its thirteenth Pastor in Rev. Williams. Pastor Williams began his work at Little Zion strongly. He began a Clothing Ministry, established Leaders Study Hour, a Prison Ministry, re-established New Members class (Orientation), and a Sunday School Scholarship fund was established. Pastor Williams worked in revitalizing our youth ministry in establishing the R.I.S.E (Renewing our minds, Inspiring our hearts, Strengthening our faith, Empowering our soul) Ministry, Brotherhood, Vacation Bible School (all ages), and weekly Bible Study (Tool-time). Under his leadership, a Women Sisterhood Ministry was formed and is expanding to include relationships with the Angel Tree Ministry and Salvation Army children’s shelter. A Praise Team Ministry was formed, the Outreach Ministry expanded to include regular ministering with Hollander Senior Living (formerly Summers Landing) residents, providing meals on Thanksgiving and reaching Children during Christmas. Pastor Williams also brought to us our Power-Up Prayer Line and introduced the Maximizing Manhood Ministry for our young men. In September 2019, he added to the Deacon Ministry in ordaining two Deacons.
Rev. Williams is married to the former Cynthia White and they have two beautiful girls; their daughter, Jessica (James) and their niece, Alexius (Rolenzo). They also have three grandsons, a granddaughter, one great-grandson and two great nieces. Pray for them as they grow in the ministry of Christ.
Rev. Williams continues to deliver the word and is a servant after God’s own heart.
